Pumpkins

It was a little bit sad for me not to visit our favorite pumpkin patch this year. Instead we asked around for what the locals like to do. Around here "fall festivals" are quite popular. We tried one out in Burke. It was not a patch at all. More like an overpriced playground. Our admission included a spooky hayride, face paint, all the playing we wanted, and a small pumpkin to take home.

Chris's favorite part was rolling the girls down a small hill in these tubes. I couldn't convince him to let me push him.

They did have fun slides all over. These burlap sack slides were the best.

There were several of these ride on horses. At least no quarters were required.

A big dirt/sand pile with "buried treasure". Grace was able to find a penny.

The "patch" where we could take home our "free"  tiny pumpkins.

Since they weren't really big enough to carve, the kids enjoyed painting them when we got home.

We did have a really nice time out in the sun. The kids liked all of the fun things to do. My main complaint was that we spent a ton of money and we still don't have any pumpkins that are big enough to carve. Oh well. We tried.
