That evening we did the standard trick or treating around the neighborhood. We put glow sticks on them and set off. So many people were out! Lots of neighbors were outside with fire pits and camp chairs. It was a fun festive way to feel involved. It didn't take us long to fill the buckets. The kids were quite happy with their haul!
This is only the girl's candy. Neil had tons too!
We ended up making a deal with them. We gave them each $5, 10 pieces of candy to keep, and a trip to see the movie Book of Life. In exchange we bagged up the remaining candy and donated it to the troops in Afghanistan. I think they got a pretty good deal, and I'm glad to be rid of all the sugar.
