There were just a few things of note that happened in January. First was Claire's winter orchestra concert. I had my doubts going into it, but those kids did an amazing job! I was really impressed with how far they have come over the course of the last few months. Claire looked beautiful and all grown up. She played her viola really well and had a great time.
There was also a diversity night at the elementary school. The first graders performed "The World is a Rainbow", which was adorable of course. They followed that up with a drummer from Africa who led the kids in a musical journey. Let's just say at one point they handed out "instruments" to EVERY kid in the place. I went home and took ibuprofen for sure. The kids also had their art work on display. They had a good time.
Claire finished her plant cell science project. Thank goodness for pinterest. I remember when I had to come up with ideas all by myself. Now things are so much easier.
That pretty much wraps up January. Now things are starting to get hectic again. Softball and baseball are both starting up this week, and we are off and running. It was nice to relax, but I'm also excited to start into the spring sports...and hopefully enjoy more sunshine.
