A few weeks ago I went on Neil's fieldtrip with his class. They went to the library on a city bus. It was quite the adventure! We had to take 2 different buses with a transfer at the main station each way. It was kind of a nightmare for us parents. The kids had a blast though. I think we were on buses longer than we were at the actual library.
For one of Neil's games we were scheduled to play on the really nice AAA field that is usually reserved for big kids. The boys were excited to be on the big field. They even brought out a flag and played the National Anthem. It was pretty cute.
Now that we have season passes, in our free time we head to Six Flags. This last time we checked out the butterfly house. There were tons of gorgeous butterflies in there and a big Koi pond. We also watched a fun walrus show in addition to a few rides here and there.
This last weekend was pretty crazy! Chris's parents and sister and niece came down to visit us. They arrived on Wednesday night. On Thursday we went to lunch and played with the kids. Both girls had practice that day. Then that night his brother and his wife and 3 kids came too!!! We had 9 visitors in total. It was a bit crazy. Thankfully we had enough space for everyone. On Friday morning they were able to see Neil sing in the assembly. He was pretty happy that Grandma was there to watch him.
On Friday afternoon we took the kids out a little bit early to go check out the Jelly Belly factory. We had a nice self guided tour this time. Of course we left with way too many jelly beans. Everyone enjoyed the giant jelly bean art work that was displayed all over.
The rest of our weekend was spent watching kids play ball. It wasn't anything super exciting or touristy. We went for ice cream a couple of times and out to pizza. It was nice to see everyone and it was sad to say goodbye on Sunday morning. We will see everyone again soon in early July.
Today was Neil's "Mother's Day Tea" at school. It was pretty adorable. The kids sang to us and made us placemats and tea kettles. It was so fun to read the things that he wrote about me. As I sat there I realized that this is it. He's my last one to go to kindergarten, and it's almost over. I'm not ready for this.
Oh Neil...I love you!
