Company Picnic

Well, we've been in California for a whole week now. Time sure does go by quickly. There's been tons of unpacking, trips to home depot, and trying to get our house in order. I'll have to make an attempt to catch up in another post.
On Friday we went to Saratoga for the Netflix company picnic. It was quite the show. With a boardwalk theme they had carnival games, a ferris wheel, face painting, tattoos, balloon animals, a fire pit for smores, a dunk tank, pool, slip n slide, photo booth, unlimited churros, cotton candy, snow cones, and of course the main BBQ meal along with drinks galore.

We hit up the pool first since it was a warm day. The kids of course had a blast. It was pretty nice to sit poolside and relax without having to actually get in.

Since everything was free, we played every single game. It was really fun! There were some fun prizes too. We came away with shark squirt guns, yo yos, and netflix shoelaces. 

The cotton candy was a hit. We also had several warm churros. Delish!

One of the coolest things was the photo booth. The girls did it a couple times. Neil wanted to do it too, until we got in the booth. These pics are of him trying to get away. Good times!

On our way home we stopped at the office to see the new building. It was quite fancy inside. I have to say I am a bit jealous. 

We had such a good time. A great start to our California adventure!

Rest of Oregon Vacay

We had such a great summer in Oregon! We were there about a month and we stayed surprisingly busy. It was so great to hang out with all of our friends and of course our families. 

Claire had a great time learning how to sew with her aunt Katie and Grandma. Her and Grace made throw pillows for their beds.

Tons of swimming time in the backyard. We filled that pool so many times.

Grandma bought this fun Angry Birds pinata. It was a hit.

Took the kids to Pump it Up Jr. one day. It was great because the place was pretty empty. We were there for hours.

Most of our time was spent chillin. It was nice to spend time together.

Our last day was spent bowling followed by a fun BBQ in the yard with a sweet dance party.

It was great to see everyone! I really loved having game nights and being able to catch up with so many people. Oregon is the best. It will always be home to me. See you all at Christmas!

4th of July and Party!

The fourth of July was a fun day again. Chris had gone back to California for work but he drove back for the weekend and surprised us. It was so great to see him! We spent the day outside playing games and relaxing with the family. In the evening we did the usual fireworks in the street. The kids had a great time!

Since so many people have birthdays in July, we did one big party for everyone. It actually worked out really well. Neil got his green cupcakes and plenty of new toys. He was a happy camper.

For Father's day I got my dad tickets to go see a Hillsboro Hops game. Since the game was on Claire's birthday I got her a ticket too. So the three of us went. It was over 100 degrees that day. Thankfully our seats were shaded. It was a pretty nice park, and we had fun even though the Hops lost.

On Neil's birthday we picked up his new glasses. Then we went out for an ice cream. He looks so grown up with them. How is it possible for my baby to be 5? Where did all the time go?

Savannah's blessing day

Lots of family was in town not only for the wedding, but also for Chris's sister Katie and her husband Mark. They were having their first child blessed that weekend. Her name is Savannah Rae. Such a cute name for such an adorable baby girl. We are happy that we could be there.

Keara and Jeff get hitched

Friday, June 26th was the wedding day of my baby sister Keara and her fiance Jeff. All of our preparations paid off. Everything went smoothly. The day started bright and early with Bree and I doing Kee's hair. We were worried about it working out. That's a lot of pressure for wedding hair. Thankfully it was beautiful. Then we set to work getting ourselves ready and the kids.

Then it was off to the temple for the sealing. It was a pretty hot day so everyone was trying to stay shaded as much as possible. We were dying in our boots. 

Then it was home to change before we all went to Copper River for the luncheon. The food was tasty and it was nice to have a real meal before the reception began. We all headed over to Julie Knudsen's house for last minute decorating before the fun began.

The reception was a blast. We cleared the tables on the deck and danced. Everyone seemed to have a great time.

We had a great time decorating the car. It was much different than the decor on our car when Chris and I got married. Pretty fun!!
